TROUBLESHOOTING

Diagnostic Procedures:

  1. Is screen resolution set to at least 800x600 or higher?

  2. Are there any other video capture cards or other add-on cards in the PC that might cause conflicts?

  3. Are any other applications running at the same time such as Internet, word processing, spread sheet, virus scan, etc?

  4. If trying to capture, is your PC recognizing the Firewire connection and camcorder? (If Windows does not "see" your camcorder then Pro-Trainer will not be able to receive video for capturing.)

  5. Has some other new software or hardware recently been installed that might be causing conflicts?

Things to try:

  1. Always start by rebooting the PC from scratch and then running Pro-Trainer immediately after system boots up.

  2. For capture problems, check all cables and connections. Also make sure the camcorder is “on” and in the “camera” mode with an image in the viewfinder.

  3. Shut down all other applications including virus programs.

  4. Turn off screen savers.

  5. Make sure the hard drive is not close to being full.

  6. De-fragment the hard drive.

  7. Before trying to capture or do complicated video editing/compressing, test PC and program operation by simply playing several different demo video clips to be sure PC is performing properly.
